Mary-Louise Parker
Mary-Louise Parker was born August 2, 1964. She is an American actress. After making her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she won a Tony Award nomination), Parker was a household name for roles in films such as Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996) as well as The Maker (1997). Parker was awarded the 2001 Tony Award as Best Actress in an Independent Film for her role in David Auburn's Proof of Catherine Llewellyn. She played Amy Gardner on NBC's television series The West Wing from 2001 until the year 2006. The role she played was so successful that she was nominated in 2002 for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Drama Series.
